Biography

Dmitriy Volkov was introduced to quantum computing during his bachelor’s thesis on electrostatically defined spin qubits. During his master’s thesis at PGI-9, he then gained his first experience with designing, fabricating, and characterizing superconducting qubits. Motivated by the desire to gain deeper insight into superconducting circuits, he joined the Institute for Functional Quantum Systems (PGI-13) where he continues to work on these aspects for systems of much larger scale.

He divides his free time between the wilderness of nature and his (macro-)electronics workbench, two passions which he has not yet managed to combine. Additionally, he also has a fluctuating number of cats, but no helicopter license yet as far as he knows.
