Biography

Juan Cereijo received a bachelor’s degree in physics from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Afterwards, he moved to Barcelona and completed his master’s in Quantum Science and Technology at the collaboration of Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he researched variational quantum algorithms for adiabatic quantum computing during his internship at Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech. Wanting to explore other aspects of the quantum computing field he joined the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi as an Associate Researcher at Quantum Research Center for two years. He contributed to developing the open-source Qibo framework for quantum computation, focusing on the Qibolab and Qibocal modules for experimental quantum computation. He now decided to join the Institute for Functional Quantum Systems (PGI-13) as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Rami Barends.
